5 Things I’m Inviting More of in 2024

So often, I hear the people around me say, “I want less…” or “no more…." or “if only things weren’t so…”. There’s an overwhelming abundance of negative language when I hear people talk about how they want to live their lives.

I feel like negativity is easier. Like it’s easier to be negative and to know what we want less of in our lives. It’s easier to perceive things like hurt, fear, upset, grief, etc, and say… “In 2024, I want to experience less…” fill in the blank. Because those negative experiences impact us so deeply, I feel like it’s often a simpler task to identify all of the ways we don’t want to feel and the moments we have no desire to experience again.

I’ve personally that found it’s much harder to identify how we do want to feel, what we want to welcome into our lives, and how we want to experience the world. It requires a lot of thought, reflection, and effort to consider where you actually want to be and how you want to feel.

And maybe it’s not that tough for you. Maybe you’ve got it down pat and you’re like, “that’s easy! I want to be happier this year.” But I’d then ask, “what does happy look like to you?”. What are the components of a happy life?

If you want to live happier, how are you going to get there?

Really, how are you going to get there? Can you name 5 things you want more of that will support living happier? Can you identify positive action step to achieve more happiness? How are you going to start this journey?

My challenge to you is to use only positive words in answering those questions and identifying your goal.

In the spirit of transparency and as an example, I will share 5 things I am inviting into my world in 2024 with the personal goal of living my best, happiest life.

5 Things I’m welcoming more of in 2024

Laughter - Laughter is a source of fuel for me. It ignites the spark in me, makes me smile, and helps me feel lighter in everything. Laughter is often derived from connection with others. So, I am inviting opportunities to laugh with people I love and care about in order to fill my cup.

Rest - Rest (and proper rest) is crucial for me. As someone with autoimmune disorders, taking care of my body and brain is paramount. I must enforce my boundaries and respect my body’s need for rest. This also means creating time in my schedule for me.

Peace - I have worked far too hard for my peace to compromise it in any way. This looks like continuing to enforce my boundaries and only allow people into my life that meet the boundaries I have established for myself.

Exploration - New places, foods, experiences, people, time with myself provides me such happiness. They are wonderful endorphine boosts that lead me to learning new things about myself and about the world around me.

Growth - This is a hard one because it doesn’t always come in the way we necessarily want or expect it to. BUT, growth always leads to positive change and living a healthier, happier life.

Welcoming rest, means having good sleep hygiene practices.
That starts with cleaning my face and bedtime affirmations in the mirror

I’m excited to share more along my journey this year and look forward to hearing from you!

What are you welcoming more of this year? Let me know via email or DM me on instagram.

With love,
